Image CG Channel have 2 interviews with Ryan Church . One is about the work Ryan Church did on War of the Worlds, the other is about Ryan.  Some great images too...

The second story will be more about Ryan Church himself, his career and the work he recently did on Star Wars. I hope to publish this one as a return from Siggraph August 5 th . So, look for the second interview shortly after that.

Ryan Church is best known for the outstanding creative work he has done on Star Wars Episode II and III. I have seen some of the DVDs he created with The Gnomon Workshop. This guy is a one-man wonder. He seems to be able to paint as fast as the human eye can see. If you'd like to learn how to do what he does, the Ryan Church training DVDs are among the best out there.

Anyway, I hope you like this interview and I hope to see you all at Siggraph.

CGC: Did you have any time off between Star Wars and War of the Worlds?

Ryan: I actually did the War of the Worlds work at the same time I was working on Star Wars. By that time I was down at ILM mostly, art directing shots and models and going to tons of dailies. The WOTW job was a welcome change to get back into doing the pure concept design stuff, especially on something other than Star Wars for a change! So anyways George said it was OK as long as I finished all my Star Wars work- ha ha; the WOTW production department was starting up and it was Dennis Muren, myself, and other ILM artists and production staff having phone meetings with Steven and sending him stuff to look at and react to.
