From HC...

"I have just come off the phone to Tony James of 'Comet Miniatures' in London http://www.comet-miniatures.com/ after having a long chat with him about there The War Of The Worlds models based on Jeff Wayne's musical version. The Fighting Machine model was due for release early this year, but after a few set backs has now received its release date that will please fans and collectors.

The kit is made from resin and white metal, the hood being that from resin in two pieces and the legs in white metal in sections and smaller parts too. The kit is scaled to 1/100th making it roughly 13 inches in height. The kit will be launched as 'Limited Runs' with the first batch of 20 hitting the 'Comet Miniatures' shelf on August 1st and priced at £29.50. As there limited, get your order in now - see below for link to order your kit.

Also released this year with an estimated time of September we will have the Fighting Machines companion - the Martian Collecting Machine or the Handling Machine as we know it. Released to the same scale as the Fighting Machine as a 1/100th, this model follows the same designs being made from resin and white meatl with a estimated price of £29.50, but this could easily change and is not fully confirmed by Tony James at 'Comet Miniatures'.
