Image The Best Sellers Illustrated comic, which is based off H.G. Wells classic novel War Of The Worlds, is now in development for a TV series by producer Richard G. Murphy (Timecop)...

"This is an entirely fresh take on 'War of the Worlds' which focuses on how a diverse group of New Yorkers fights back against the Martians," said Murphy.

Stern added, "Steven Spielberg has opined that 'War of the Worlds' is a reflection on how scared we are in the aftermath of 9/11. I like to think that we've conquered our fears of an attack on our soil and are prepared to deal with whatever the future holds."

Murphy feels the graphic novel reads so much like a TV miniseries that he intends to adapt it in a way similar to Robert Rodriguez' Sin City film. One thing that will be different is the name. The current working title is Alien Attack - From the "War of the Worlds" Graphic Novel. Catchy.
